Agricultural Productivity Determines Long-Term Growth in Food Supply
University of Minnesota applied economist Phil Pardey and co-researchers write about the importance of reinvestment in agricultural R&D to ensuring sufficient food for the world in the coming decades. The article appears in a recent issue of Science magazine.Norman Borlaug Fought World Hunger

Special 2007 Hatch Funding Allocated
The Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station received additional Federal funding from the CSREES for fiscal year 2007. The one time only allotment came as a result of a continuing resolution that disbanded all “earmarked” funded projects nationwide. Some of the money is being used to support the Minnesota research projects that lost their funding through that continuing resolution. Another portion has been dedicated to research infrastructure support.
